Fired Up Art Bra for BCRC of Texas, June 2018.

Every month, profits from Samantha’s work go back to the community locally, nationally and internationally. Here’s a list of links to the organizations that are supported:

+ Austin Community Foundation

From the donations given to the foundation, grants are issued to marginalized people in Central Texas to “close the opportunity gap through advancing economic security and affordable housing". Building a better community from the inside out! Visit them here.

+ Breast Cancer Research Center of Texas

BCRC is a wonderful organization who provides free resources and support to anyone who walks through their door with a breast cancer diagnosis. Samantha contributes wearable works to their annual Art Bra runway show fundraiser which is a main source of income for the group’s work. Visit them here.

+ Grassroots Law Project

Working to transform the justice system in America to protect Black and POC citizens, the Grassroots Law Project is combining the resources and manpower of many grassroots organizations across the country to be a large force for change. “Grassroots Law Project bridges the gap between grassroots organizing and legal expertise in criminal justice reform by bringing millions of us together to address the most pressing and egregious failures of the system, hold powerful actors accountable, and advocate for deep structural change.” Visit them here.

+ House of GG

House of GG is a safehouse in Little Rock, Arkansas founded by Miss Major Griffin-Gracy - one of the prominent Stonewall Rebellion veterans and a major leader in transgender and human rights activism. In their words: "We create safe and transformative spaces where members of our community can heal — physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually — from the trauma arising from generations of transphobia, racism, sexism, poverty, ableism and violence, and nurture them into tomorrow’s leaders." They are a major establishment in the trans and GNC community who set a precedent of support for marginalized peoples. Visit them here.

+ Philadelphia Community Bail Fund

Also known as the Philly Bailout Fund, this group helps Philadelphians trapped by the bail system which keeps free, innoncent-until-proven-guilty people in jail simply because they are too poor to pay in order to await their trial at home. Their larger goal is to end the cash bail system entirely, but until then they are supporting those affected so that the money they do make can continue going towards supporting themselves and their families. Visit them here.

+ Preemptive Love Coalition

This organization does all they can to help those affected by wars surrounding their homes. Their goal is to stop the spread of war, reduce the risks that occur from war, and create connections to encourage peace in an effort to prevent future wars. Countries that they currently serve are Iraq, Syria, Israel & Palestine, Iran, Libya, Korea, Mexico, Venezuela, and Colombia. Visit them here.

+ The West Fund

The West Fund provides funding for legal abortions for women in the West Texas area as well as resources surrounding the process. “We work to make abortions accessible for all people. We believe in reproductive justice and know it's beyond abortion, which is why West Fund is engaged in local community issues ranging from gentrification, the environment, immigration, sexual health education and voter engagement. The safety of our communities and families depends on our collective political participation and civic engagement.“ Visit them here.
